Our teachers and mentors help students develop effective study habits, manage their time wisely, maintain discipline, and set achievable goals. We pay special attention to each student’s individual learning needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. Remedial support is provided whenever needed to ensure consistent academic progress.
For senior students, guidance is provided in selecting the right academic stream, preparing for exams, and planning future careers. The school encourages open communication so that students feel comfortable seeking help for academic or personal concerns.

Syllabus
Bihar Mission School follows the curriculum and syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, for classes from Pre-Primary to Upper Primary (Classes I to VIII).
The syllabus is prepared in accordance with the latest CBSE curriculum framework, academic guidelines, and circulars issued by the Board from time to time. It focuses on developing conceptual understanding, skills, critical thinking, and the overall holistic growth of students.
A detailed class-wise and subject-wise syllabus is provided to students at the beginning of each academic session. Any revisions or updates issued by CBSE are implemented by the school as notified.
Medium of Instruction
Bihar Mission School is an English-medium institution. English is the primary medium of instruction for all subjects to ensure that students develop strong communication skills and academic proficiency in the language.
All subjects are taught in English, except for Hindi and Sanskrit, which are taught in their respective languages as prescribed by the curriculum. The school encourages students to communicate in English within the campus to enhance fluency, confidence, and overall language development.
Norms for Promotion
In addition to the minimum requirements prescribed by the Government, Bihar Mission School follows its own promotion policy. Promotion to the next class is based on the following criteria:
Overall Performance
Promotion is granted on the basis of a student’s performance throughout the academic year. Regularity in attendance, consistent academic work, and examination performance are essential.
Classes I to VIII
For students of Classes I to VIII, assessment is based on a comprehensive evaluation pattern covering the entire academic year. Promotion is determined by:
Required attendance
Required Attendance: Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance during the academic year, in line with the norms followed by most schools. Students failing to meet this requirement may not be eligible to appear for the Terminal Examinations unless a valid medical or officially approved reason is provided.
Minimum Passing Criteria
Students are required to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in each terminal examination as well as in the final examination. However, merely securing the minimum required marks does not automatically guarantee promotion. If, in the judgment of the Principal, a student is not sufficiently prepared academically to cope with the next class, the student may be required to repeat the current class.
Repeated Failure
A student who fails twice in the same class will not be permitted to continue in the school.
A student who fails in different classes and is above the average age for the class may also not be allowed to continue.
Transfer Certificate (TC)
If a student leaves the school, the Transfer Certificate issued after the final examination will clearly mention whether the student was “Promoted” or “Not Promoted”, based on actual results.
Lack of Improvement
A student who shows no academic improvement or fails twice during his/her course of study in the school will not be permitted to continue.
Finality of Results
The results declared at the end of the academic year are final and will not be reconsidered
